As an introverted child with an imaginative mind, creativity and the arts became my outlet. From singing obnoxiously loud in the shower to performing with friends on stage, the arts have always felt like my safe space.
BUT when you combine creativity and perfectionism and you get: a hard-core planner. As early as 8th grade, I realized Lady Theatre had a hold of my heart, but I was unsure how to keep a similar type of creative outlet in my potential professional career.
Yes, I was planning my life out at age 11.
It was later in high school when I served on our Drama Club’s Executive Board that I found my heart’s secret mistress: advertising. While it may sometimes feel like nothing can beat singing to a sold-out show, seeing someone laugh or smile at a piece of my work comes pretty darn close.
